We love what we do outside, and we never want sun damage to hold us back. But we’re sick of bulky, awkward sun protection options that just don’t fit our style. 
So we made Prōtēən.

 

 

 

Bill Lafferty is used to baking in the sun. From surfing and paddling to fishing, running, and hanging at the beach, he spends almost every day soaking in the California rays—and their skin damaging effects that could get in the way of his outdoor lifestyle. 

Just ask his dermatology PA wife what kind of permanent damage UV rays can do. 

With 18 years of experience in the action sports industry, Bill knows a thing or two about good gear. So, he created Prōtēən to give outdoorsy people like him quality, protective headwear they want to wear: headwear that’s functional, versatile, easy to clean, durable, long-lasting, and non-wasteful. The kind you can wear straight from a fishing trip or paddle to a brewery hang or grocery store run.
